Sana Mir, on Tuesday, became the first-ever player from the Pakistan country to top ICC Women’s ODI rankings. She has been in the top spot in the bowler rankings, despite her team’s 3-0 loss in ICC Women’s Championship series to Australia.

But, Sana returned with figures of 3/26, 1/37 and 3/53 to jump to the top of ICC women’s ODI bowling rankings with a career-high 653 points. She has elevated 3 spots to overtake Marizanne Kapp of South Africa and Australian duo of Jess Jonassen and Megan Schutt to become the first from her country to achieve the remarkable feat. Australia off-spinner Ashleigh Gardner was outstanding in the last ODI, hitting an unbeaten 37-ball 62 and picking up 3 wickets.
She made a lot of difference in the end game, where Alyssa Healy’s 97 was the highest score for Australia, but Gardner’s was the real match-winning effort. On the other hand, Nicole Bolton didn’t have a good series and dropped out of the top ten after slipping six spots. Alyssa Healy, however, went up 2 places to joint Number 16 – with South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt.
The 575 points are her best to date. Among the Pakistan batters, Nahida Khan was solid, scoring 17, 66 and 37, and is now the twenty-fifth best in the world with a career-best 497 points. Sana Mir now on top in her bowling according to ICC.
